Come to the Downs Cultural Center at Ingleside Retirement Community (1005 N Franklin St, Wilmington, DE 19806) this Sunday, October 19 at 3:00 P.M. and find out!
It's all part of my musicological presentation:
"What the Heck do the Great Highland Warpipes Have to Do with Italy?"
As "The Blackhorn Piper," I’ve been featured on "Channel 69 News Berks Edition" and "The Reading Eagle Newspaper," and have more than 15 years of experience as a piper. I hold a B.S. in Music Education from West Chester University and made a few musicological contributions to Smithsonian Magazine in the 1980s. My skill and passion for the Great Highland Warpipes have led me to discover some of the things that I will share Sunday’s presentation.
I like to have fun while sharing information with my audiences. There will be a wee bit of piping, some humor, and a whole lot of good information to show how this unusual instrument is beholden to Italy's past. So don’t miss this; because you won't want to miss seeing my knees just below my kilt...and if you're an excellent audience, I might even tell you what a Scotsman wears under his kilt!
This FREE event is sponsored by the Wilmington Friends of Italian Culture and will be well attended. Wonderful food and beverages provided after the event.
